This colorful exhibition features work by narrative painter Art Rosenbaum; his wife, professional photographer Margo Newmark Rosenbaum; and the friends and former students they met along the way.
Art Rosenbaum was a painter, muralist, illustrator, collector and performer of traditional folk music. His richly colored canvases depict lively figures often dancing or holding musical instruments. Art and Margo were married for 55 years and spent a lifetime working on their art together and documenting American traditional music. Among the other artists whose work will be included in this exhibition are Howard Finster, Len Jenkin, Michael Paxton, Bonnie Loggins, Dennis Harper, Kent Knowles, Scott Belville, Dilmus Hall and Teddy Johnson.
“Three Excellences of Culture” opens September 24 and continues through January 14, 2023. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free.
