Named in honor of Andrew Carnegie recognizing his contributions for enhancing quality of life for the citizens of Houston. Wealthy steel manufacturer Andrew Carnegie financed the construction of more than 2,500 public libraries throughout the world. In 1904, one of the first Houston Public Library branches was named in his honor. Located in northside Houston, this neighborhood location is designed to be a part of the social fabric, providing localized expertise, access and resources. Libraries are free and open to the public, and always here in your moment of need!
