nspiring kids to be part of Maker movement and learn to create and design, you'll learn how to make a portable smartphone microscope, design 3D models and use a 3D scanner and software to capture objects and print them out.
Chevron Maker Annex workshops are held on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate in this workshop and a waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian. Workshops are held at designated days and times.
3D PRINTING WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
3D Printing Orientation: Make a Smartphone Microscope
This workshop teaches kids some basic concepts and principles of 3D printing. Kids will use 3D printed plastic housing and glass beads to make portable smartphone microscopes. Kids will also learn the terminology of microscope and prepare slides for cells & crystals observation!
Dates: Oct. 8 and Oct. 29 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 10 and Oct. 31 from 2 - 4 p.m.
3D Modeling: Design and Print
This workshop gives kids an overview of a FREE 3D Modeling program – Tinkercad. Kids will design 3D models in Tinkercad and print them out using MakerBot 3D printers. Come & learn more about 3D Modeling & Printing! If the KidMaker really enjoys the program, we’ll show you how to use it at home!
Dates: Oct. 15 and Nov. 5 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 17 and Nov. 7 from 2 - 4 p.m.
3D Scannning and Printing
This workshop will teach kids some 3D Scanning techniques. Use 3D scanner & software to capture objects then print them out!
Dates: Oct. 22 and Nov. 12 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 24 & Nov. 14 from 2 -4 p.m.
