Saddle up, Houston families — the Five Star Roundup is two full days of rodeo-style fun for a cause that couldn't be sweeter: giving kids who have lost an eye to cancer their smiles back.
Friday, September 25: Kick off the weekend with live music under the lights — the Justin Kemp Band, Hill Country Jane, and Philip Griffin take the stage from 6:30 to 11 PM.
Saturday, September 26: The big day! A sanctioned BBQ cook-off fills the air with smoke while food trucks, a kids zone loaded with activities, and pop-up vendors keep the whole crew busy. Little cowpokes (ages [X–X]) can sign up for mutton bustin' — eight seconds of fame they'll never forget. Music runs all day on the outside stage (Micah Cheatham, Daniel Lynn, Waylon Stoerner, Rusty Halo, and Cody Kouba, 11 AM–4:45 PM), then the arena stage lights up with Shayne Porter at 7 PM and headliner Sundance Head — winner of The Voice — at 8:45 PM.
Every ticket helps a real Texas kid. Kids Kicking Cancer - TX funds custom prosthetic eyes for children who have lost an eye to cancer — $2,500 covers one child's prosthetic, at no cost to their family, and more than 50 kids have gotten their smiles back so far.
