Hiking Houston

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 10/01/2016
Fall is hiking season in Texas! Learn basic day hiking essentials, the importance of practicing Leave No Trace principles, and discover where in our sprawling city you can find the best hikes.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

You’ll make your own hiking stick and practice using it while exploring some of the only hills you can find inside the loop. Each family member will take home their own hiking stick, Leave No Trace card, map of favorite local hiking spots, and collectible hiking stick medallion.

Class schedule: one hour in the classroom making hiking sticks and learning Leave No Trace principles, one hour outside hiking the hills of the Arboretum and Memorial Park. This event is rain or shine so dress for the weather and walking through the woods.
