Juneteenth Celebration in Baytown

Juneteenth (short for "June Nineteenth") marks the day when Federal Troops arrived in Galveston, TX in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people would be freed. The troops' arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a Federal Holiday.

Scarface and Cupid—two legends in Baytown for one unforgettable night. Join us Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Bicentennial Park for Baytown’s award-winning Juneteenth Celebration. Headlining the stage: hip-hop icon Brad Jordan—better known as Scarface. Bringing the party to life: Cupid, the king of line dancing. Enjoy a free concert filled with family fun, food trucks, local shopping, and fireworks to close the night. If you’ve been before, you already know. If you haven’t, this is your year.
