Juneteenth Celebration in Baytown

The 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will take place on June 13, 2026 at Bicentennial Park, bringing the community together for an evening that celebrates culture, heritage, and unity through music and fellowship. The event will feature a lineup of opening performers including DJ Donnie Houston, DJ GT Mayne, Piano Vibes, and Bree Terry, setting the stage for a full night of entertainment.

Headlining the celebration will be The C.I.T.Y. band, KIRBY, and nationally recognized R&B and soul artist Leela James. Leela James has received notable recognition throughout her career, including nominations for a NAACP Image Award and a Soul Train Music Award. She has also been honored with a SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award for Female Artist of the Year, further highlighting her impact in the R&B and soul music community. 

Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend and enjoy an evening of outstanding live music, community connection, and celebration as the City continues the tradition of honoring Juneteenth with a signature event for the community.

Event Competition

Join us for a spirited Dominoes Tournament as part of our Juneteenth Celebration, honoring freedom, culture, and community through friendly competition! Whether you're a seasoned player or just in it for the fun, this event is open to all skill levels.

Grab a partner and get ready to slam some bones in a double-elimination style tournament. First Place winners will receive a (2)WWE inspired Championship Belt and (2)$100 dollar credit to any Recreation Division rental or program. Enjoy music, food, and the vibrant energy of Juneteenth as we celebrate heritage and unity through this classic game. Bragging rights are on the line!

  • Bring your chairs or blankets
  • Shade tents are allowed for the first half of the concert 
  • Coolers are allowed, but no glass containers or alcohol

Parking

Free public parking is generally available at Lee College across the street from the park, while those needing access to handicap parking will be accommodated at the Lee College Performing Arts Center.

Event Guidelines

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, please follow these guidelines that apply to all special events at Bicentennial Park: 

Event rules for entire park property:

  • NO personal use of drones
  • NO BBQ pits, grills, or open flames 
  • NO glass containers
  • NO alcohol
  • NO motorized vehicles 
  • Bags, coolers, and wagons are allowed but subject to inspection at any time.

Special rules within a 200 foot radius of the stage/crowd area:

  • NO smoking or vaping
  • NO personal pets, even leashed
    • Service animals are allowed
  • NO bikes, skates, scooters, skateboards, or other wheeled recreational devices. 
    • Mobility devices for accessibility purposes are permitted.
  • Personal tents are allowed but must be taken down at dusk.

All rules apply unless otherwise approved for accessibility needs, staff vehicles, sponsors, or vendors.
