The mission of the North Texas Teen Book Festival is to inspire life-long readers, cultivate a love of reading, and celebrate teen literature. NTTBF is an all-day event with keynote addresses, over 40 unique author panels, giveaways, special publisher events, and a large book signing featuring over 70 incredible authors. NTTBF's author guests are a mix of bestselling, award-winning, and debut writers who create fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels for teens and tweens. This event is primarily designed for readers in grades 6-12, but younger readers of middle grade and adult readers of YA and all friends & family are welcome to attend. NTTBF is a program created and organized by the Irving Public Library.
Breakout author panels are split into either middle grade (perfect for 3rd-8th graders) or YA (perfect for 9th-12 graders), and topics include fantasy, romance, science fiction, graphic novels, friendship, family, mysteries, spies, and more!
Speed Dating with a Book & Book Buddies are both a free activities that take place in the morning. Librarian & teacher volunteers pitch books written by participating authors to teen attendees, who get to pick one free copy to take home. Available to grades 6-12.
Publishers are on-site to provide free book & swag giveaways as well as hold special events such as scavenger hunts, ice cream parties, book buzzes, and other cool surprises.
Books and merchandise are available to purchase from Talking Animals Books and the Friends of the Irving Public Library.
