Sheep to Shawl Workshop - George Ranch Historical Park

Join us at George Ranch Historical Park for a special “Fleece to Fiber” workshop where students will immerse themselves in the world of textile production with some Texas pioneer flair! Geared for beginners but more advanced spinners welcome. Participants will get the chance to work with raw wool all the way through production and will take home a small amount of finished and dyed handspun yarn. Topics covered will include: modern and traditional wool washing and drying techniques, hand carding fiber, hand spinning and plying using a drop spindle and using natural dyes found on the Texas Prairie
