Our All Hallows Eve Adventure features three different contests for the brave and daring. A blood-curdling jack-o-lantern, a stunning costume or a gigantic appetite could win someone tickets for 2016. Please speak with a Transylvanian Performance Company Member at the Revels Area (near the New Market Music Gazebo) for contest information. All contests are FREE to enter!

2015 Theme Contest Rules
Only one season ticket winner per household per season
Only one winner per household per weekend
In contests with a finite number of contestants (stein holding, bocce ball, king of the log, dizzy putt, eating) spaces will initially be filled with ONE member of each family/group, to give as many patrons as possible a chance to participate.
Persons with a pass for ANY reason (vendors, employees, pass for play, friends/family passes) are not eligible to compete in the themed contests.
Every weekend we have a costume contest and a food eating contest. The information for those is immediately below. The information for other contests can be found after the costume and food rules.
Costume Contests- Arena at 2:00 pm.
Prizes
1st – 1 Season Pass to next year’s Texas Renaissance Festival and t-shirt
2nd – 4 Tickets to next year’s Texas Renaissance Festival and t-shirt
3rd – 2 Tickets to next year’s Texas Renaissance Festival and t-shirt
Player Eligibility and Entering:
This contest is open to all ages. As with all Theme Weekend Contests, all contestants must be attending the Festival, which does include complimentary passes and children under 5. Festival Participants on a pass are ineligible to enter.
To enter arrive at the Arena shortly before 2:00pm and make your way to the front of the audience near the fence. Group entries are permitted, though only one prize will be awarded. Please inform the Theme Court and Judges should you happen to be part of a group entry.
Costumes are not required to be handmade. However, craftsmanship will be taken into consideration. A costume that has been well made is going to have an advantage over a store bought, pre-packaged costume. Complete look from head to toe will be taken into consideration by the judges.
Costumes should fit the theme, or be historical (Tudor/Elizabethan).
Costumes must be worn by the contestant.
Judges will then select and present the finalists. All other contestants will be released. The finalists will be moved together and judges given time to review costumes and confer to a final decision. Judges will then select and present the winners. Decisions by the judges are final.
Food Contests – New Market Music Gazebo @ 4:00
Prize: First Place – 1 Season Pass to next year’s Texas Renaissance Festival and t-shirt
There may only be one winner per household per weekend.
Player Eligibility and Entering:
This contest is open to adults (age 18+) only. As with all theme weekend contests, all contestants must be attending the Festival, which does include complimentary tickets. Festival Participants on a pass are ineligible to enter.
To sign up speak with the theme performers throughout the day. The theme performers will typically be near the New Market Music Gazebo.
Only one person per family/group should sign up.
The first five who are signed up will be given guaranteed spots, provided they are back at the gazebo on time (3:55). All who sign up after that will be put in a drawing for a spot.
All contestants need to be at the gazebo area NO LATER than 3:55. At 4:00, the returning winners and first five will be assigned spots, and names will be drawn for the remaining places.
Food will be placed on the table in front of contestants. All contests have equal food and one bottle of water. The host will review rules, trash location, and inform the contestants of when they can open their bottle of water. All contestants must place their hands on either side of their plate until the host tells contestants to begin.
A contestant may be disqualified for un-sportsman-like conduct, unswallowing the food, failure to finish food, cheating, starting early, or any other reason the host and contest official determine. TRF will provide a medic on location. Should the medic determine a contestant unfit to participate for any reason, including intoxication, the contestant will be disqualified from competition.
Proctors from the Performance Company will monitor tables.
The winner will be the first contestant who finishes the food to the contest officials’ satisfaction. Should the need arise, all contestants may be stopped and the winner determined by the remaining food.
* The 2014 food contest winners may defend their titles once on the same theme weekend when they won. They should see a theme weekend performance company member to get their name on the list.
Jack-O-Lantern Contest:
1st – 1 Season Pass to 2016 TRF and t-shirt
2nd – 4 Tickets to 2016 TRF and t-shirt
3rd – 2 Tickets to 2016 TRF and t-shirt
Drop off is from 9:30-11:45 near the New Market Music Gazebo. Voting will run from 12:00-3:30 and will be executed by members of the Performance Company as well as TRF Management Staff. PLEASE LABEL YOUR PUMPKIN WITH NAME, PHONE, ADDRESS, E MAIL.DROP THE LABEL INSIDE THE PUMPKIN). Winners will be announced at the 4:00 eating contest. Jack-O-Lanterns become the property of TRF and will be displayed (weather permitting) at the front gate.
